New 2020 Tax Incentives
The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), which passed on March 27, 2020, includes charitable 501(c)3 giving incentives for individuals and businesses.
- Non-Itemizers: Can donate up to $300 in the 2020 tax year. They will receive a one-time, above-the-line, deduction credit.
- Itemizers: May donate up to 100 percent of their Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) to a qualifying 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
- Corporations: Can deduct charitable contributions up to 25 percent of the corporation’s taxable income to qualifying 501(c)3 organizations.
